Rating: four of four paws.
As a fluffy mini goldendoodle, I have standards. When it comes to walks, I go for the spots that were made for dogs like me. For canal walks, paws down, the one I take with my human is one of the best. Here's why:
- The route. Start at Granada Park, follow the Arizona Canal to the Biltmore, and loop back to the parking lot.
- The path. It's well kept and easy on paws. Bonus: it gets my human off the couch and moving. You're welcome.
- The air. When the water's flowing, it's cooler by the canal, and a breeze keeps things fresh.
- The view. Mountains, city skyline, and plenty to sniff.
- The company. Joggers, bikes and fellow walkers. Leash on, manners sharp.

One heads-up: in wet, humid seasons the gnats and mosquitoes show up, so pick a breezy day. In summer, go early. Always pack water and bags.
